The Roosevelt @ MSU blog is taking a much-needed break this week as we prepare for the upcoming school year and decompress from Hyde Park 2017. We’ll be back next week with a post about ethnic cleansing.
Instead of leaving you without any policy content, though, I’d like to direct you towards a 10 Ideas piece by Connor Rockhill and Ruby Kirby over at Roosevelt @ U of M. Their piece, nominated for Policy of the Year by the national network, deals with Michigan’s strange and tremendously lax policies for enforcing accountability at charter schools. It’s a revealing read, especially in light of the Trump administration’s appointment of Betsy DeVos to head the Department of Education. I’d encourage you to give it a look.
